Arizona Queer Archives
Brand Identity
Publication Design
The Arizona Queer Archives is a self-described ‘Archival Learning Space’ hosting curated exhibitions on queer history. Hosted out of Tuscon’s UofA, the AQA came to the VisualDESIGNLab, where myself and two colleagues provided an entire identity redesign.

Brand Assets
The Arizona Queer Archives logo system is typography based, being comprised of a sans-serif “Arizona” and “Archives,” and a serif “Queer.” Colors include an off-black and white, and three accent colors: Pink, Indigo, and Amber. These colors allude to print, where materials are printed in CMYK. Collage-inspired patterns and textures are used to provide a tactile feel to the identity.

Collateral Items
Collateral was designed to compliment the physical, exhibitionary nature of the AQA. Paper textures and rips make up the basis of most designs. Images of artifacts from AQA exhibits are often at the forefront of each design, and patterns are used to add a little extra visual interest to each piece.
The Arizona Queer Archives brand identity redesign was done as a part of my time interning at NAU’s VisualDESIGNLab. Learn more about the AQA here ↗.
