NAU’s W. A. Franke College of Business ↗ (FCB for short) is one of the largest departments at the university. For my last 18 months at NAU, I worked within FCB’s marketing department as a graphic designer and video editor to create promotional materials for the college.

Scope

During my time at FCB, I worked on a variety of projects. This means graphic design work like brochures, flyers, signage, packaging and logos, as well as video projects such as promotional videos, television commercials, and social media content. These videos often called for motion graphics such as logo animations, title cards, name plates, and much more. I also frequently worked events to shoot video and photos, both of which I would also be tasked with editing.

I made dozens of TV signage slides that were displayed across the building announcing events, deadlines, and more.

Design Work

Working at FCB, I had a set of existing brand guidelines to follow. Depending on the project, I was really given space to express my own style within said guidelines, and bring a bit of light to an inherently corporate environment.

Hall of Fame Wall

My (physically) largest project for FCB was my redesign of the Hall of Fame Wall. I was tasked with designing a set of 7 five-foot tall panels that would be displayed near the entrance of the building. The purpose of the wall os to showcase the names of all major donors to the college, and make new donors feel like an important part of FCB’s history.
